Head of School:
Tom Main
At Ridgefield Academy and Landmark Preschool, delivering an intellectually inspiring curriculum is at the heart of our mission. Curriculum, however, does not stand alone: cultivating kindness and mutual respect, recognizing each student as an individual, and fostering joyful learning are fundamental components of the preschool - Grade 8 program. Head of School Tom Main says, “We are focused on raising more than hands. What we provide more
than anything else is an environment where each child is known, understood, and loved as both a student and as an intellect. Here, teachers focus on how to uplift each student so that they can become more confident and curious learners.”
With the past two school years impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, parents feared that their children would not be able to learn. At Ridgefield Academy and Landmark Preschool, children experience the joy of learning every day and at every age. Whether in person or remote, each student benefits from small class sizes, individualized attention, and the tools to learn and explore. In a supportive, connected community, students are encouraged to take risks and find their voices as they discover themselves and the world around them. From parallel remote
learning and outdoor events to each child’s development of a love of learning, the focus here is on all that can happen.
At Ridgefield Academy and Landmark Preschool, we can assure you:
-
Your child will benefit from teachers and curriculum that are positioned to deliver in any scenario.
-
Your child will experience the joy of learning and the joy of childhood.
-
Your child will learn and grow as an intellect and as an individual.
-
Your child’s social and emotional well-being will be supported.
